Hi everyone,

We hope you are all doing fine, and your families are safe. We’re pleased to report our team at Macaronis Resort is safe and remaining positive.

After Indonesia closed its borders to tourist arrivals on Friday, March 20th, we were notified by the Mentawai Government on March 24th that all beaches and surfing would be temporarily closed. As of March 26th, we still had 8 guests, and 6 considering extending. This announcement led to all of our guests checking out on Friday, March 27th. We were sad to see our guests leave, who had been with us the past 2 – 3 weeks, and we sincerely hope all have been able to get home safely.

We are thankful our team has decided to stay together, remaining at Macaronis Resort, where we all feel safe with minimal potential exposure. All upcoming bookings have been rescheduled until the earliest May 01, while the Indonesian government has announced its borders will remain closed until April 20th. We are awaiting further updates and will pass on news as things develop.

Our main objective during this time is keeping our team safe while we conserve our resources. This is a time for all of us to reflect and appreciate the conveniences we all have in ‘normal’ life, and keeping mentally and physically fit, as we prepare to get through this challenging time together.

It is our 16th birthday this April, and we are offering our ‘best ever’ deals, requiring only a 30% deposit to book, and guests can pick travel dates later, all the way up until the end of the year 2021. Without doubt, at the other end of this, there will be cheap flights and completely uncrowded line-ups awaiting, something to look forward to.

Our current ‘best ever’ specials are “2 Surfers for the price of 1”, “Solo Surfer visit at Non-surfer Rates (private Room)”, or “Surfers bring along a Non-surfer FREE”. These specials are only available in April with limited spots. Go to our Packages & Rates Page to find out more.

If you would like to receive further updates, just go to the footer of our website to sign up to our mailing list. We will be back with an update in the coming days. Until then, stay safe everybody.

Sincerely,

Management
