Christmas and New Year are such special times to visit Macaronis Resort! For many of our returning guests, it’s their favorite time of the year to be in paradise, when there are no other surfers or charter boats around, and we get to enjoy the Southern Mentawai Islands all to ourselves.

During the festive season, we always attract a variety of guests, from surfers to non-surfers, to solo travelers, to mixed groups of family and friends. Yet one thing that they always have in common is how much they love visiting at this time of year!
Surfers can always expect uncrowded lineups in December when we are the only place open in the Southern Mentawais! If you want to improve your surfing or get that surfed-out feeling, where your arms are aching and your cheeks are grinning, then you should come join us!
In addition to the empty lineups, Santa always delivers a cracking swell or two, and quite often, some Christmas barrels as well!

Mixed groups of surfers and non-surfers are common over Christmas and New Year, and this makes it more exciting for our non-surfers as well. Usually, we have approximately 50% surfers and 50% non-surfers, so we make sure there are plenty of other activities to take part in for anybody not surfing.
