Reports Year 2011

We used hired charter boats as back up to our services, after the October 25 year 2010 Tsunami tragedy... thanks to Christian Barton for looking after Macaronis Resort guests over this time while refurbishments were taking place.

Report 3 - April 21, 2011

Just one guest on the boat are you kidding me? I'm not kidding you, we advertised to get a few more crew on board but everybody to busy with their lives to come and get seriously barreled when a solid SW swell was hitting through the island chain generating solid waves from Friday through til Tuesday.

Aaron joined Barts for a few fun ones at Macas followed by epic Roxies on their own (just two people out 5ft perfect!?!?), for a couple of days, didn't do a lot of traveling around as just nice having company to have somebody to surf with, then later in week traveled back to Macas and scored it epic.

A couple of shots taken below, pretty much at the same time by two different photographers, one on land (notice the outside point has had a tsunami style hair cut) and a shot of the barrel from the standard water vantage point.

One thing's for certain, macas wave hasn't changed, and is still pumping out big grins, sun burnt bodies and memories of the best waves ridden in a long while.

Today we have 8 new guests joining Aaron and Barts on the boat, a bit more company should be welcoming for the new couple haha.

We have a pulse on the way for early in the weekend, then smaller swell forecast before a ripper due to hit next Thursday which should see the best breaks turn on full steam.

The new view from the reef....

And the same view from da tube...

Report 2 - April 14, 2011

After four of the guests headed for home, this left Jurgen, Denis, Jeff, Berterand and Michel on the boat with Barts, and after already seeing the northern region, it was time to head into the deep south for something a bit different. And with just rewards, a solid South swell meant the boys were in for a treat, surfing solid 5ft Moots for 2 days straight and a fun session at the Hole.

After surfing a couple of days with no another boat in sight and epic waves had by all, the crew headed back north and scored some filthy Rednuht and Roxies and some fun Macas to end an outstanding week of surf.

We are waiting for Jeff and Jurgen to come through with some photos of the waves scored in their second week, Barts had none of his own, but is counting on the guys to send some in and we'll post them in this report.....

Report 1 - April 04, 2011

After a Saturday night departure from Padang the good ol ship "M.V. Saranya" found its first stop at ultra clean Bintangs where we gorged on fun waves before moving down to Macas for 3 days being Tues 29th -31st with Thursday 31st providing super rippable waves with 4 ft sets all day long. The 1st of April kicked off with smallish Roxy's in the morning and 4 ft crispy, clean aqua blue wedging rights at Rednuht, with no one around for a further 2 days, bringing us back up to Macas on the 4th of April for 3ft South West runners down the entire length of the "funnest wave on earth".

Will be back with another report a bit later.... over and out.... Barts

As we have internet back on at Macas Resort now, Barts will be dropping us a line once a week when stopping in to give us an update.... we had a shitty NW weather pattern this week, but sounds as though the crew have managed to make the most of it and score the best options available. NW winds mainly favor the right handers, but fortunately Macas has turned on at times as well.

Here are a couple of shots from the past week aboard Saranya.... once again we thank the owners of Saranya for making her available to cover Macas Resort bookings while refurbishments are taking place....
