Mooring Use at Macaronis

As of Tuesday 20th April 2010, Silabu Village has introduced compulsary use of 2 Moorings for visiting charter boats to Teluk Pasongan / Macaronis wave.

Implimentation of the Mooring system is to prevent over-crowding in the bay and to protect the marine environment, as well as to benefit co-existance between Macaronis Resort and the charter boat fleet.

This decision has been made in compliance with Public notice issued by Head of Mentawai Government Feb 2009 and Public notice issued by Kepala Desa Silabu Oct 2009.

Both Moorings nearby Macas wave have been surveyed by Biro Klasifikasi Indonesia (BKI) and are licensed by Mentawai Government.

We thank all charter boat operators for your understanding and cooperation.

The two documents below issued by Kepala Desa of Silabu advise of the booking system in place for moorings which can be booked by contacting village staff via SSB radio (channel 10135 USB, 18290 USB OR 7000 USB), VHF radio (channel 10) email (silabu1@hotmail.com) or whilst visiting at Macaronis.

Bookings can be made a few days prior, or well in advance if preferred. The status of bookings will be updated regularly on the bookings sheet link below, so feel free to check the mooring buoy booking status and book your preferred dates to visit.
