Itinerary

Guests coming from Singapore should fly Tiger Airways direct to Padang arriving at 10.55 am on Thursdays prior to departure of Ambu Ambu Ferry at 5pm to the Mentawai Islands. Guests flying to / from Bali via Jakarta should fly Lion Air. From 11:00 am until 2:00 pm on Thursdays Macaronis Resort's ground handling staff will be standing by to greet guests at the airport. At 2:00pm guests will be transferred to Bungus Harbor to depart on Ambu Ambu Ferry to the Mentawais at 5:00pm that afternoon.

Ambu Ambu Ferry arrives in Sikakap at approximately 7:30am where guests depart to Macaronis Resort mid morning. On the way home, guests depart Macaronis Resort at midday on Friday prior to boarding the ferry in Sikakap at 5pm to depart to Padang arriving at approximately 7:30am on Saturday morning in Padang. Guests are transferred to the Padang Airport arriving at approximately 9:00 am (Guests should book flights no earlier than 11:00am).

Trip Duration:

Guests using Ambu Ambu Ferry for transport between Padang and Macaronis have the option of booking either 7 nights / 8 days at Macaronis Resort (plus 2 nights ferry) or 14 nights / 15 days (plus 2 nights ferry).

The acception to this is during the month of August at which time Ambu Ambu Ferry undergoes annual docking maintenance in Jakarta. During August Indies Explorer will instead travel to and from Padang on the following dates as back up to Ambu Ambu:

- Wed 13th Aug depart Macas 4:30pm arrive Padang 7:30am & Thu 14th Aug depart Padang 4:30pm arriving Macas Sun 7:30am

- Fri 22nd Aug depart Macas 4:30pm arrive Padang 7:30am & Sat 23rd Aug depart Padang 4:30pm arriving Macas Sun 7:30am
